The Government announced in the 2018 Budget that it has extended its Help to Buy equity loan scheme until 2023.

From April 2021 (when the scheme was originally set to close), it will only be open to first time buyers (not home-movers). There will also be a regional price cap on the value of a home that someone can buy using the scheme, ranging from £186,100 in the North East of England, to £600,000 in London (see table for details).
